Fabio Capello believes Real Madrid are just as fearsome as Bayern Munich and Barcelona, and warns Juventus to tighten their defence.

Whilst it is suggested that the Italian team was lucky with the semi-final draw, Capello strongly disagrees.

“It's absolutely not the case, that's just a masquerade that people are throwing around,” he told Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri host Los Blancos at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday May 5 in the first round of their Champions League semi-final.

Whilst it is suggested that the Italian team was lucky with the semi-final draw, Capello strongly disagrees.

“It's absolutely not the case, that's just a masquerade that people are throwing around,” he told Tuttosport.

“I may be biased in Real's favour because of my past with them.

“But in any case we are talking about a great team, that stands on a par with Bayern and Barcelona. And out of those three, they are the strongest and best equipped in terms of their defence.

“The first game is going to be crucial, and Juventus will play that at home. They'll have to be careful not to concede any goals.

“That's the number one rule, in games like these. If they allow no goals at Juventus Stadium, they can go into the Bernabeu with greater confidence and less tension. Perhaps their rivals will be the ones to worry.”

The 68-year-old was also asked about Coach Max Allegri and whether he may deploy a three- or four-man defence.

“That's his own decision. But when it comes to defence, things are very simple – you just have to know which version makes your team most organised, regardless of Cristiano Ronaldo, [Gareth] Bale and whoever else you're up against.

“Max's results are substantial and under everyone's eyes. He managed to keep his cool and understand what the team needed. He did well.”

Capello was also asked whether Juventus had any chance of winning the ambitious triplete, meaning the Champions League, the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia all in one season.

“If I were the Bianconeri, I wouldn't think about that at all,” he said.
