“We must give heart and soul if we want to come away with a result, but I have faith because we’ve shown that on home turf we can fight it out with anyone,” said the Coach.

They have lost only one match at the Stadio Sant’Elia, a 5-3 thriller to Fiorentina, along with a 2-2 draw against Roma and five victories.

“We are in good shape and are coming off two good results. Napoli are in excellent form and play such good football, making them one of the best teams in Serie A.

“You have to play these games in the right frame of mind. It’s important not to feel too much pressure, as that can weigh players down.”

Cagliari are forced to do without suspended David Di Gennaro, plus injured Nicola Murru, Joao Pedro, Luca Bittante and Artur Ionita.

“Diego Farias is in the squad, but I have to evaluate whether to use him or not. He had a calf problem and after such a long injury lay-off even the slightest twinge has us on edge.”

Cagliari squad for Napoli: Colombo, Rafael, Storari; Bruno Alves, Capuano, Ceppitelli, Isla, Pisacane, Salamon; Barella, Dessena, Munari, Padoin, Tachtsidis; Borriello, Farias, Giannetti, Melchiorri, Sau
