Simone Inzaghi is confident Lazio have put the derby disappointment behind them by conquering Sampdoria. “Our best first half of the season.”

The Aquile were beaten 2-0 by their city rivals Roma last weekend, but got right back on track with a 2-1 victory at Marassi.

“We had an excellent first half, our best of the season so far. We should’ve added a third goal and were under pressure at the end, but it was a deserved success,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We had an excellent first half, our best of the season so far. We should’ve added a third goal and were under pressure at the end, but it was a deserved success,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“In my heart of hearts I did hope the derby wouldn’t affect us too much. On Tuesday we went over a few of the errors, but from Wednesday onwards I didn’t want anyone to mention it. The lads did well.”

Felipe Anderson provided both assists for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Marco Parolo.

“I am very happy with Felipe Anderson, he’s training well. Some games he doesn’t perform to his best, but he wasn’t the only one who struggled in the derby.

“We know that game disappointed our fans, but I think they’ve left the derby behind them too. Parolo hadn’t scored yet this season, mainly because he’s been playing in a deeper role, but like Senad Lulic he sacrificed himself for the team. That’s what makes a Coach proud.

“Ciro Immobile didn’t find the net, but he worked his socks off for the team and I congratulated him. We’ll have to make some evaluations for the Fiorentina game, because Lucas Biglia has a knock, Parolo is suspended and Federico Marchetti has a muscular problem.”
