Giacomo Raspadori reveals he has ‘goosebumps’ after scoring his debut Napoli goal to beat Spezia. ‘This is one of the greatest experiences of my life.’

The Partenopei confirmed they tend to thrive against open and attacking sides like Liverpool, who they beat 4-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday, but struggle more with defensive outfits such as Spezia.

It was no secret, as after all Spezia had won their last two Serie A trips to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“It’s incredible, I still have goosebumps. I’m so happy,it ‘s a very important game, we had to bring home the three points. We weren’t always sharp enough in the right moment, but we got it done,” Raspadori told DAZN.

“This is one of the greatest experiences of my life. I know it is just the beginning, but it is a moment that will remain indelible in my head and my heart.”

The Italy international looked positively exhausted at the final whistle and his teammates celebrated around him as he crumpled to the ground.

“I also missed a couple of chances that I should’ve scored, so I need to improve. I felt ok, until the last five minutes after the celebration when I could barely stand, but I got there.”

How can Napoli learn to break down more defensive sides with greater ease?

“We need to improve the details, because in these games it’s all about the details in the final third. We need to do more in attack, create more movement and be more efficient.”

Raspadori was linked with several clubs and in negotiations with Juventus too, but the former Sassuolo striker had his heart set on Napoli.

“I am fortunate to have found a group of great lads as well as great players. I bring a lot of enthusiasm, but I am also quite shy, so they have helped me to settle in. I absolutely made the right decision coming to Napoli.”
