It is understood that instead, his representatives will shortly meet with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio to lay foundations on a new four-year contract at San Siro and that it could be signed at the end of this month, when the player returns from his holidays.

The new contract, which would extend his existing deal by three years, will reportedly pay not much more than his current believed rate of €2.2m a year.
