Andrea Ranocchia maintains Inter have ‘far more to give’ in both Serie A and the Champions League ahead of their trip to Sheriff.

It kicks off on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT in Moldova, after a 3-1 result at San Siro.

That was the first defeat for the Champions League debutants, who had previously beaten both Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Madrid.

“We absolutely have to win this game for the Champions League,” said veteran defender Ranocchia in his press conference.

He made his first start of the season in Saturday’s Serie A victory over Udinese.

“I always try to ensure that I am ready and can help the younger players. I consider myself fortunate to be playing and training with these lads.”

Inter won the Serie A title last season under Antonio Conte and are currently third in the league with Simone Inzaghi at the helm.

As for the Champions League, they have four points from the opening three games.

“The foundations are very solid, we brought in new talents over the summer too, building on those two strong years,” continued Ranocchia.

“The coach is working with positivity, but this squad has far more to give.”
