Simone Inzaghi warns Inter need ‘balance’ against Sheriff and are fully focused on this Champions League clash without Milan derby distraction.

It kicks off on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT in Moldova, where Sheriff have already beaten Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0.

They also won away to Real Madrid before the 3-1 defeat to Inter at San Siro on October 19.

“The lads did very well against Empoli and Udinese to make the difficult games seem simple, especially as we were able to rotate the squad,” said Inzaghi in his press conference.

“We created lots of chances and allowed very little at the back, so that’s the ideal for a coach. Tomorrow will be a decisive fixture for qualification and we’ll prove that we are strong in Europe too.

“We take on Sheriff with great respect, as they have clear potential in this squad and we know that we need to be fully concentrated. They have interesting individual talents and we must be balanced.

“Inter have the most prolific attack in Serie A and like to create, but the important thing is never to lose that balance.”

There is the risk of distraction for Inter, as they have the huge Serie A showdown with rivals Milan coming up this weekend, which is also a top of the table clash.

“The derby will certainly be important, but my thoughts are exclusively focused on Sheriff and this match.”

Inter surprisingly opted to fly out after their training session, so did not test out the pitch they will be playing on tomorrow.

“We preferred it that way. We came to see the stadium and compliment the club, because it is a modern arena with an excellent playing surface.”
