“I feel very happy with the way I played yesterday,” he told Milan Channel. “It was difficult to play 90 minutes after such a long time.

“To get to my usual level I’m going to have to play a lot more.

“I did some good things and some bad things yesterday, but it’s easy for me playing alongside Mexes – I know him very well from my time at France.

“We need to play more games and work harder, and then it will be even easier."

He then commented on his new boss, claiming that Seedorf's career as a player will help him in the dugout.

“Seedorf has won everything as a player and is a very impressive man.

“He knows the dynamics of Italian football and that will help us a lot.”
