Lazio defender Stefan Radu reveals they “wanted to play at all costs” against Milan despite weather warnings.

The game was postponed by an hour and now kicks off at 15.00 UK time (14.00 GMT) after flash floods in the city of Rome.

“It’s a great game against Milan,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“They are an all-new team who reinforced a great deal on the transfer market. We hope to put in the same performance we had against Juventus in the Super Cup.

“The delay doesn’t change anything. We wanted to play at all costs, because the fixture list is so packed.”

There continue to be weather warnings all over the city, including two people in serious condition after a tree fell on their car.

If the game had been called off, it would not be rescheduled until December or even January.
