Sampdoria are building their new club with the Andrea Radrizzani takeover, including Fabio Grosso as coach, Nicola Legrottaglie as director and former Tottenham and Juventus chief Fabio Paratici as consultant.

The Blucerchiati took a massive step towards saving the club today with news that the takeover had been approved and Radrizzani would cover the losses to ensure they can register for the 2023-24 Serie B campaign.

After buying out Massimo Ferrero, the next step for Radrizzani is to build his own club hierarchy and that is well underway.

According to Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia, the plan is to hire former Juventus and Chievo defender Legrottaglie as technical director and Riccardo Pecchi as director of sport.

Paratici was spotted in Milan today and while he is technically banned from working as a director at Tottenham after the Juventus capital gains scandal, he can still be a consultant for Sampdoria.

It’s a return to his past, as he was already at Samp with Beppe Marotta before the switch to Juventus in 2010.

Another big ‘get’ for the Blucerchiati is Grosso, who just earned promotion as coach of Frosinone only to decide he wanted a different experience.

It seems as if he will remain in Serie B with Sampdoria.
