Andrea Dell’Aquila – a 36-year-old from Civitavecchia in Rome – racially abused Juan Jesus via his Instagram account, telling the defender “you belong in a zoo, damn ape” and referring to him with the N word.

Roma subsequently reported the account to the police and Instagram, while pledging he would not be allowed to attend any of their games in the future.

That has now extended to all stadia in Italy after he received a DASPO – a football banning order – for discriminatory behaviour and stalking.

It comes after a Sampdoria supporter was also handed a DASPO for mocking victims of the Superga air disaster in the stands against Torino.
