Roma fans may be pleased to hear reports from France that PSG no longer want to hire Jose Mourinho, turning their focus towards Napoli target Julian Nagelsmann.

There had been suggestions for the last few weeks that Mourinho was first choice for Paris Saint-Germain director Luis Campos.

However, now L’Equipe, followed by Sky Sport Italia, Footmercato and others, all claim that the club owners in Qatar are unconvinced by the idea and have told Campos to cut off any negotiations.

In turn, the Special One was informed by Campos that the PSG option is now no longer on the table.

Some of the reports go even further, claiming the club chiefs believe Mourinho is too old-fashioned and out of tune with modern football.

His behaviour after the Europa League Final against Sevilla, where he was charged by UEFA with using insulting and abusive language towards referee Anthony Taylor, certainly did not help his cause.

Instead, PSG are going in on Nagelsmann, who was sacked by Bayern Munich and had been linked with Napoli, but his salary was far too high for the Partenopei.
