Considering the serious injury that ruled him out for at least five months, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly renegotiating Georginio Wijnaldum’s loan with option to buy deal.

The Dutch midfielder only managed one substitute appearance for 12 minutes in the win away to Salernitana on August 14 before fracturing his tibia in a training session.

The original agreement was for Wijnaldum to be on loan with PSG paying half his salary, and Roma had an option to buy for €10m.

That is now likely to change, seeing as Wijnaldum will not be able to play until 2023.

According to Calciomercato.com, PSG are not prepared to extend the loan deal for another season.

Instead, they are expected to offer a significant discount on the option to buy.

After all, he did join them as a free agent from Liverpool in the summer of 2021 and therefore cost the club nothing other than his salary.
