Dusan Vlahovic seems set to be rewarded with a starting place for Fiorentina against Roma, who are likely to bring back Chris Smalling.

As Federico Chiesa is not in Fiorentina’s matchday squad, Vlahovic is almost certain to start up top after scoring a last-gasp equaliser against Inter last weekend.

Elsewhere, Gaetano Castrovilli is available again so fellow midfielder Milan Badelj could be demoted to the substitutes’ bench.

Roma, meanwhile, should line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and Smalling is expected to replace Federico Fazio in their back four.

Alessandro Florenzi has been linked with a move to their opponents recently, but it looks like he will get another go at right-back.

Finally Edin Dzeko plays as the lone striker, ahead of Nicolò Zaniolo, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Diego Perotti in the three behind.

Fiorentina (probable): Dragowski; Milenkovic, Pezzella, Caceres; Lirola, Benassi, Pulgar, Castrovilli, Dalbert; Boateng, Vlahovic

Roma (probable): Pau Lopez; Florenzi, Mancini, Smalling, Kolarov; Veretout, Diawara; Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Perotti; Dzeko
