The possibility to restart the current 2019-20 campaign has been widely discussed in Italian media and Preziosi has revealed that he would be ready to proceed, but with guarantees of the right conditions.

The Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora warned Serie A clubs were “living in a bubble” and that “serious changes would follow the coronavirus pandemic”, but Serie A President Paolo Dal Pino hit back, saying the minister “was stirring controversy”.

The Presidents have later responded to reveal their thoughts on working towards a conclusion of the current 2019-20 season, with Brescia President Massimo Cellino calling for the season to end.

The Grifone patron Preziosi has claimed that he would be willing to continue but pointed out that the Lega will have to provide suitable “conditions to protect” the people involved.

“I agree with the resumption of the championship,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “But only and exclusively if there are the right conditions to for protection of health.”

Genoa are currently 17th in Serie A, only above Lecce in the relegation zone on goal difference, with 12 games remaining of the season.
