Cesare Prandelli isn’t looking to return as Italy CT, but urges others not to “renounce” the Azzurri job.
Antonio Conte will step down as Coach of the national team after this summer’s European Championships, and his predecessor believes the job should be attractive for anyone.
“When I read that many Coaches would reject that national team I say that’s a shame, you can never renounce that bench,” Prandelli said on Gr Parlamento.
“A return? I already guided Italy for four years, it’s not feasible.

“My next job? I’d like to start again in Italy, it would be easier from a linguistic point of view even if my time in Turkey [with Galatasaray] was important.”
Prandelli was then asked about Cristian Brocchi, who has struggled after taking over from Sinisa Mihajlovic as Milan Coach.
“Brocchi has to move forward with his own ideas. He has the ability to get out of this, he has to be good at managing emotions.
“Was he wrong to take the job? He’s a Milan man, he couldn’t say no. Even if you have doubts you have to say ‘I obey’.
“Mario Balotelli? He has enormous potential, but you have to ask him what his priorities are and it’s up to him to provide the answers, especially on the pitch.”
Finally, the former Fiorentina Coach was asked about Claudio Ranieri, whose Leicester City will win the English Premier League if Tottenham Hotspur fail to beat Chelsea.
“He’s representing Italy and we’re more than proud of him,” Prandelli explained.
“It’s an extraordinary promotion for Italian football. He’s a serious person who has never been a snake oil salesman.”
