Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli insists ‘Milan have a strong team also without Ibrahimovic' and believes Ribery ‘must have enthusiasm.’

“Our priority is to become a team, with a few, clear ideas. If we continue to do important performances our self-confidence will improve,” Prandelli said at a press conference ahead of Milan-Fiorentina.

“The priority is therefore the team spirit. We can think of doing a great performance against a very important team like Milan.”

The Rossoneri are without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“We can make the most of his absence but it will depend on us and Milan remain a very strong team also without Ibra,” said Prandelli.

Giacomo Bonaventura will return to Milan after leaving the club as a free agent last summer but Prandelli expects more from another one of his stars, namely Franck Ribery.

“Franck must be the protagonist of Fiorentina, but we must not depend on Ribery. He must be more involved without isolating himself in one place. Franck should never think about sadness, but think about conveying the enthusiasm he has. I would like to see a Ribery like that.

“Bonaventura has experience and can cover different positions on the pitch. I want to think about 18 starters, I have five subs and I can use them to make the difference."

Milan coach Stefano Pioli has caught COVID and Daniele Bonera will replace him on Milan’s bench.

“I have a really good relationship with Stefano, I’ve always considered him a coach who can create teams despite difficulties. He can manage certain situations and his teams have always had a nice playing style.”
