Cesare Prandelli believes Napoli would have have a “serious claim on the Scudetto” if they beat Juventus.

The Partenopei are currently two points clear of the defending champions, and face the Bianconeri in Turin this Saturday.

“It’s a game which promises entertainment,” Prandelli wrote for Calciomercato.

“Both teams are in peak physical condition, and I think it’ll be an open, head-to-head match without any special tactics.

“That said, we’ll see on Saturday evening if Juventus and Napoli go one-on-one all over the pitch or if they’ll look to double-up and close the spaces.

“The key factor will be the ability of [Napoli Coach Maurizio] Sarri’s attacking wingers, [Lorenzo] Insigne and [Jose] Callejon to force their direct opponents back to create numerical superiority.

“If the Juve wing-backs prevail, Napoli risk ending up in a 4-5-1 formation with a very isolated [Gonzalo] Higuain.

“It’s difficult to make a prediction, but if Napoli win at Juventus Stadium, they’ll have a serious claim on the Scudetto, while the games will be re-opened if the Bianconeri win.”

Prandelli also took the time to praise Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, who has led the Foxes to the top of the English Premier League.

“I can’t go without saying a few words about the man of the moment in England, Claudio Ranieri.

“Let’s all cheer for him from Italy, it’s a moment of great vindication for him, for his ability to enhance the quality of his players, the organisation of the game and his daily work.

“In our country, many underestimated him, now he’s exacting a beautiful revenge. Winning the Premier League with Leicester City would be a historic moment.”
