“It was an important point, which proves that we’re still alive,” the Coach told La Domenica Sportiva.

Grifone fans are boycotting games in protest against President Enrico Preziosi, and Prandelli addressed the impact their absence was having on his players.

“The boys feel it; it feels like we’re alone against everybody. When you have your fans, they become an extra weapon, especially at home.

“It’s now difficult to address this topic. We’re aware of the difficulties, which start from afar, but now it’s useless to talk about it. We need to build a positive attitude around the players.

“We knew we would have a tough afternoon; however, the players are convinced that they have what it takes to stay up.”

Prandelli threw on Gianluca Lapadula from the bench in the second half, and the former Milan striker scored nine minutes into his cameo.

“The decision of bringing on Lapadula was forced as we lost confidence after we conceded, and I needed to change things up.

“The truth is we find it difficult to score. We have to work harder, we have to get more players into the box.”
