Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo suggests “smaller clubs are penalised” in the race for the Champions League after the defeat to Roma.

The Friulani had strong penalty appeals just moments before Francesco Totti secured a 2-1 result with the last kick of the game.

“We are very upset, as it was a difficult game with so many players carrying injuries,” said the President.

“Then we made a few naive mistakes that Roma were able to take advantage of. For example, the penalty on David Pizarro was pointless.

“At the same time, there was a penalty on Kwadwo Asamoah that was not given. It's always the same problem, that the smaller clubs are penalised.

“Now the table becomes crucial and we are in the top four, but I don't want to cause controversy, as I wouldn't seem objective right now. There's no point standing here recriminating.”

Udinese are still in fourth place at the moment, but Lazio could overtake them today and Roma are now just three points behind them.
