Genoa visit Turin in the lunch-time kick-off and Davide Ballardini has no fear. “We are on a par with Juventus.”

The Grifone have nothing left to play for this season, having achieved mid-table safety, and so can play without pressure. At the same time, they fell 1-0 to Cagliari last week in perhaps their worst performance of the campaign.

“This is a squad of talented, professional and responsible people. Players are not looking for excuses, nor do they pull out when faced with a physical problem,” assured the Coach.

“This is a squad of talented, professional and responsible people. Players are not looking for excuses, nor do they pull out when faced with a physical problem,” assured the Coach.

“During the season, they proved their worth many times. We care about this match in Turin, as we want to show we are on a par with Juventus, a side that have become competitive again.

“When Juventus are on form, they can hurt any opponent. They already defeated Milan, Inter and Roma among others this season.”

Genoa also have a point to prove, having been lambasted by President Enrico Preziosi after last week's loss.

“We deserved to lose to Cagliari. A defeat like that can happen, as long as it remains a one-off. We have to get back on track and continue the season in the right way.”
