UEFA President Michel Platini sees Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba as France's ‘gold nugget’, who will become a ‘great player’.

The former Bianconero and France icon was interviewed by French radio channel RMC and discussed the prospect who seems to be following in his footsteps.

“He's not bad,” he said, when asked about Pogba. “We've seen many prospects who never lived up to their promise.

“But with [Raphael] Varane and Pogba, we have two gold nuggets for the French team.

“I think he's already mature. He left Manchester United to join Juve.

“That's no simple task, but it made a man of him, and a stronger player.

“He has all the qualities to become a really, really great player someday.”
