Manchester City will not be selling Mario Balotelli to Milan this week, says former Serie A midfielder David Platt.

Reports are gathering pace that the Rossoneri will complete a swoop for the Italian international before the transfer window closes.

But Platt, an assistant to Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, expects the former Inter forward to remain.

“I saw that speculation yesterday but I've not heard anything,” Platt, formerly of Bari, Juventus and Sampdoria, stated.

“As far as we are concerned I think he is still a Manchester City player. I don't think there is anything going to happen.”

The Sun newspaper is today claiming that Balotelli hosted a farewell party for close friends on Sunday evening.

Milan could offer Kevin Prince Boateng and around €20m to snap up the 22-year-old attacker.
