Miralem Pjanic said he’s “never been as happy” as he is at Roma, while the Scudetto “won’t be a two-horse race.”

The Bosnia international spoke to Roma TV about the campaign so far.

“Everywhere I’ve been in my career, I’ve never been as happy as I am here. I have extraordinary memories of the past, but I am truly bonded to Roma. I am so content here.

“I thank Francesco Totti for his kind words. He has given so much to Roma and Italy, he is an extraordinary player and we get along very well.

“Borriello and De Sanctis are the soul of the locker room. Marco is great, we all love him and it’s a shame he is injured. We’re pleased he’s coming back into action.

“Unfortunately we don’t have all our players at our disposal. When we are all fit, we can rotate and keep fresh. It was just an issue of bad luck at the start of the season.”

Roma are second in Serie A behind Juventus and now have Napoli breathing down their necks.

“Our objective is to go high. That is what the club expects and it won’t be easy. It’s a long season, we need to stay as close as possible to the top spots.

“I don’t believe it will be a two-horse race, as Serie A has increased the quality level, Inter have a good team and Napoli are getting back on their feet.

“Last year Juve were superior, but this season we want to win it.”

A decisive moment in the campaign saw Roma lose 3-2 in Turin amid controversy.

“It could have and should have finished differently, but let’s not talk about it anymore,” said Pjanic.

“We face every game to win as soon as possible, to finish games off and not have problems. It’s not easy, but we have improved in that sense.”

The Giallorossi are also in the running for Champions League qualification and visit CSKA Moscow on November 25.

“It has to be a decisive match. The Coach told us they changed system, we know they are strong and we saw that over the course of the group.

“We know this is going to be a complicated encounter with difficult weather conditions, but we expect a positive result, just as we expect Bayern Munich to get a positive result against them too.”
