Reports are emerging that Roma have agreed a contract extension with Miralem Pjanic until 2019, ending Manchester United interest.

The Bosnian midfielder has long been a transfer target for Milan, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

According to La Repubblica, the Christmas break allowed Pjanic’s agent and father to meet with director of sport Walter Sabatini.

The basic agreement for a contract extension was put in place and will be ratified next month, tying him down until June 2019.

His wages will increase to €3.2m per season net and interest from Europe’s top clubs will have to wait.

As Roma are currently in second place and still unbeaten under Rudi Garcia, it’s likely they will be in the Champions League next season.
