Disaster has struck Marko Pjaca yet again, as the Juventus-owned winger on loan to Fiorentina ruptured his left ACL in training.

The 23-year-old has been extremely unlucky in his career with a series of serious injury setbacks.

This afternoon, the Viola released a statement confirming he had sprained his left knee during a training session.

Tests showed the anterior cruciate ligament had been severed.

Pjaca will have a specialist consultation over the next few days, but surgery is inevitable and that means around four to six months out of action.

He managed only 19 Serie A appearances this season, contributing one goal and one assist, but was largely left on the Fiorentina bench.

Pjaca had already ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee March 2017, precisely two years ago, and was out of action for seven months.
