David Pizarro says Roma's shirt will be the only one he wears for as long as he stays in Italy.

The playmaker's has been the subject of great speculation in recent weeks after he appeared to lose his place in the side and fall out with Claudio Ranieri.

Matters weren't helped by his decision to stay in Chile rather than return to train with the club without their permission.

Pizarro is recovering from an injury and now has Roma's blessing after they sent a physiotherapist to visit him.

"I stayed in Chile because I continue to have pain and I wanted an alternative treatment," he said.

"They say many things in Italy also because the transfer market is open again.

"I want Roma's shirt to be the last that I wear in Italy. I have a contract until 2013 and then I want to come back to Chile and play for Santiago Wanderers.

"It's a dream of mine to return to Valparaiso," he concluded.
