David Pizarro has finally returned to Roma after staying in Chile to receive treatment for a knee problem over Christmas.

The midfield playmaker sparked a degree of controversy earlier this month by taking the decision without the club's consent not to return to training camp, but Roma later sent a physiotherapist out to Santiago to help his progress.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands Pizarro got back to Italy this morning and has already visited the club's training ground for tests.
