The Chilean playmaker has emerged as a target for the Old Lady as an alternative to the influential Andrea Pirlo.

Juve initially enquired about the South American’s availability during the December transfer talks which will take Marco Borriello from Rome to Turin.

Roma are apparently ready to let Pizarro move on loan to the Bianconeri for the rest of the season for a fee of less than €500,000.

Pizarro, now 32, has made just seven Serie A appearances under boss Luis Enrique at the Stadio Olimpico so far this term.

However, he’s only started five games and he’s been replaced in two for a total of 402 minutes of League action.

Juventus have no real alternative to Pirlo in their squad, a player who joined them on a Bosman from Milan in the summer.
