DAZN pitchside reporter Giovanni Barsotti reveals Romelu Lukaku, Simone Inzaghi and all players on Inter‘s bench ‘looked lost’ when Antonio Candreva scored a late equaliser for Salernitana with a cross-shot.

The Nerazzurri have now gone six games with no victories across all competitions, being held to a 1-1 draw by Salernitana at the Stadio Arechi on Friday.

Lukaku started the game and delivered the assist for Robin Gosens’ opener after barely six minutes but was replaced in the second half after missing a couple of decent goal-scoring opportunities.

All eyes were on the Belgian forward today after the racist incidents at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Tuesday, during the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal against Juventus.

“When Candreva scored, it was a tough moment for Inter,” said DAZN’s pitchside reporter at the Stadio Arechi.

“They all looked lost, including Lukaku, who couldn’t believe it. He was looking at the floor, but after the final whistle, he was the first to urge his teammates to go under Inter’s Curva, waving to fans.

“Eventually, only three or four teammates joined him. He then gifted his shirt to fans and wanted to thank them even if this was a difficult moment.”

DAZN pundit Alessandro Matri blamed Inter keeper Onana for Candreva’s late equaliser. Lukaku has now scored six goals in 22 appearances across all competitions but hasn’t found the net from open play since August.
