Andrea Pirlo believes Italy are developing a style of football that approaches world champions Spain.
“It was an important game, we had fun, kept the ball and didn't need to get too tired. It was a nice way to end the season with this victory that takes us closer to qualification,” he said of the 3-0 win over Estonia.
“We took the right approach to this match and in the end got a positive result.”
Cesare Prandelli adopted the 4-3-1-2 system with no recognised centre-forward until Giampaolo Pazzini came off the bench.

“There are many quality midfielders who can start the moves, so we can rotate our positions. It's a new way of playing for us and we really enjoy our football.
“The Coach has a lot to choose from and we are ready for anything. He has already given us a very positive mentality during this year together. We really want to play football and entertain the fans.
“Prandelli did very well to calm the group and turn over a new leaf after that World Cup. We are on this new path and will try to continue it all the way.”
This system has been compared to that of world and European champions Spain.
“We are adopting a similar style to Spain, but it takes time to develop that and we hope to be a little closer to them by the time Euro 2012 comes round.”
Pirlo also commented on Serie A matters, such as his move to Juventus and the betting scandal that has shaken football this week.
“Milan and I made a decision together. I wanted a new experience after 10 years, Juventus gave me this opportunity and now I hope to do well with that shirt.
“People come to the stadium to have fun and see good, clean football. We hope these allegations aren't true, but in any case we showed the good side of Italian football and sent an important signal.”
