Milan coach Stefano Pioli sees the Serie A title as a ‘starting point’ for the Rossoneri: ‘We know we accomplished something important.’

Pioli received honorary citizenship at Noceto on Monday morning and presented an event organised by Milan Camp.

“I am proud to receive this recognition that makes me even closer to my territory and city,” said Pioli.

“I can only be happy with the many compliments received. I share them with the club and a group of players who have always given their best. They’ve always believed in them, in their qualities and their coach.

“The team hold on in difficult moments, giving us great satisfaction. For this reason, the title must be a starting point. We know we accomplished something important, especially for a group of fans that hadn’t seen their team win for a long time.”

Pioli was appointed Milan coach in 2019 and first led the Rossoneri to their first Champions League campaign in eight years and then won the 19th Scudetto in the club’s history, the first one since 2010-11.
