The Giallorossi are on fire after defeating Inter at San Siro, though defensive problems saw Catania snatch a 2-2 draw at the Olimpico.
“We’ve got to get it into our heads that Francesco Totti is one of the best players in the world and he sees the pass before anyone else,” said the Rossoblu Coach.
“He is an important reference point for Roma and we must attack him, but also do well to mark the others.
“I have a clear picture of the team in my mind. We want to do well when out of possession, but also when breaking into space.
“I do not want to see a passive performance, nor a defensive one. We will go out there with the intention of putting our opponents under pressure.”
Bologna fell to two consecutive defeats against Chievo and Milan, but hope late signing Alberto Gilardino can break his duck.
“We have zero points after two games, so this situation requires the right humility and sacrifice to get off the mark,” continued Pioli.
“We need to start notching up points, hopefully combining a positive performance with a positive result.
“I really liked Gilardino’s interview in which he said the important thing was to help the team be stronger rather than just focus on scoring his own goals.”
