Pioli said Milan are prepared to ‘fight against the strongest teams’ in Italy, but pointed at Juventus and Inter when asked who were the favourites to win the Scudetto.

“[Zlatan] Ibrahimovic talked about the Scudetto dream, and Milan are right to be ambitious,” Pioli told Sky Sport Italia.

“The results we are achieving are showing that we are a competitive team that can fight against the strongest teams in the League.

“But how can you not consider Juventus the favourites for the Scudetto? They won nine consecutive championships and Inter have reinforced the team that ended one point behind Juventus last year.

“We want to fight, but then it’s clear that the stronger players we will have, the more chance we have to continue on this path.

“We know we are doing something unexpected and that no one was hoping for, except us.”
