Things go from bad to worse for Sassuolo, as the struggling team will have to do without Andrea Pinamonti and Andrea Consigli for a while.

The Neroverdi are hovering just above the relegation zone after suffering seven defeats in the last nine Serie A games, picking up only four points.

The pressure is growing on coach Alessio Dionisi following three straight losses to Bologna, Sampdoria and Fiorentina.

Now matters are even worse for the tactician, because two of his most important players picked up injuries against the Viola.

Centre-forward Pinamonti limped off in the second half with a muscular issue and that has now been diagnosed as a right flexor strain, with La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming he will be out of action for two to three weeks.

As for goalkeeper Consigli, he felt a twinge in his right knee and tests show there is a strain to the collateral ligament, although this is a less serious injury.

He is hoping to make it back for the match against Lazio this weekend, otherwise Gianluca Pegolo will take the gloves.
