Aston Villa are reportedly considering moves for Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek and Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel this month.

A new No 9 is a priority for Villa following an ACL injury to first choice Wesley, and The Telegraph claims they are shopping in Serie A.

The pair have struggled for form in 2019-20, scoring a combined tally of five goals, although Defrel has also been out since November with an ankle injury.

However, the newspaper adds it is “unlikely” the Premier League side will be able to bring in the Pole, given Milan are light on attackers, despite the recent return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Calciomercato.com, meanwhile, writes both Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen are also looking at Piatek but warns he has “no intention” of leaving San Siro midseason.
