Diego Perotti is on the verge of completing a €12m transfer from Genoa to Roma.

According to Sport Mediaset, the deal is practically done and will be made official within the next 10 days.

It’s believed to be a €9m fee for the winger, plus performance-related bonuses of up to €3m.

The 27-year-old Argentine rejected a similar move to Watford over the summer, insisting he wanted to stay in Italy.

There is no rush to complete the transfer because Perotti is suspended until January 11 for a reaction foul.

He scored one goal in 13 Serie A games this season, but also received two red cards.

Genoa hope to get Stephan El Shaarawy on loan from Milan as a replacement.

The Little Pharaoh will interrupt his loan spell at Monaco just shy of the appearances needed to make their buy-out clause mandatory.
