Ivan Perisic believes ‘Inter are back’ after a difficult run of results, as they followed the victory over Juventus with a win against Verona.

The Croatia international provided the assists for both goals at San Siro to beat Verona 2-0, setting up Nicolò Barella and Edin Dzeko.

“We hope this means Inter are back, because the results in February and March were not positive, but we’re still up there and it’s not over,” Perisic told DAZN.

“I don’t like talking about the past, I want to focus on the present. We were missing our fans for almost two years, but with them behind us, it’ll be easier to keep it going to the end.”

With the top sides all on 31 games played right now, Milan are the leaders with a one-point advantage over both Inter and Napoli.

“We won the title last season, we did well this season until February, there are many teams in the running for the Scudetto, but if we play, run and fight like we did today, I have no fear.”

Perisic made way on the left wing for Robin Gosens in the second half today, moving to a support striker role behind Edin Dzeko.

“In my career, I’ve played almost every position on the field! It doesn’t matter where you play, the important thing is running, fighting and winning for the team.”
