Genoa sporting director Diego Perinetti doesn’t rule out Mattia Perin joining Roma – “you’d have to ask Monchi…”

The Giallorossi could sell Alisson this summer, with Real Madrid and Liverpool among the clubs thought to be interested.

It has been suggested that Perin would be an ideal replacement, and the Grifone aren’t ruling out a sale.

“I think Monchi has to say he wants him,” Perinetti said on Radio Centro Suono Sport.

“I think Roma bought a goalkeeper of exceptional quality [Alisson] who is showing all his value this season, and that will have sparked the interest of a lot of clubs around the world.

“Consequently, if Roma were to sell Alisson then we’d need to understand who could go to Roma.

“I’ve said and I’ll repeat to infinity that Genoa would like to keep Perin, because he’s a great prospect.

“Obviously though, with the football dynamics now, we can’t guarantee participation in Europe and so on.

“So then we get to what is purely a personal view: if Perin were to leave Roma, I hope he at least stays in Italy.

“Then if Roma want Perin, you’d have to ask Monchi. If Napoli want him you’d have to ask [Cristiano] Giuntoli.

“So far there are no negotiations regarding Perin, because until we secure our Serie A status we won’t be talking about anything with anyone.

“Perin is a goalkeeper who can play in a great team, that much is certain. After that, I don’t know which of those great teams would be interested in Perin.”
