Edin Dzeko had put the Giallorossi in front in Bergamo, but Jose Luis Palomino and Mario Pasalic turned it around.

“We played very well in the first half and were almost perfect,” the goalkeeper told DAZN.

“Once we conceded the equaliser on a corner, we realised it was going to be difficult. It was a different team to the one seen against Sassuolo and Bologna, but we are where we are because we’ve dropped too many points.

“We need to learn from these experiences and avoid the same errors in future. We’ve been conceding a lot of goals in 2020, whereas we hardly allowed any chances to the opposition towards the end of 2019. We have to work on getting back to that level.

“It had been very good this evening for half the game, but then we conceded on a corner and then when we were in possession to lose the ball.”

Pau Lopez made a crucial save one-on-one with Papu Gomez in the first half, rushing off his line.

“I didn’t really do this in Spain, so I learned here with the Roma staff to time that intervention.”
