Alexandre Pato and Pippo Inzaghi are out of the derby this Sunday after picking up injuries against Palermo.

Milan's 3-1 victory put them top of the table, but it came at a price, as both strikers limped off the field.

“Unfortunately we have lost two players like Pato and Inzaghi, who were doing well and will miss the next few games,” explained Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

“Pippo sprained his knee, we have to hope for the best. Pato felt a pain in his thigh and I think we'll only know more tomorrow.”

It is highly unlikely either of them will be fit to face arch-rivals Inter on Sunday evening.

Andrea Pirlo is also a major risk, as he pulled up in training before tonight's game and remained in the stands.

“I think the confidence in the group is high, as it was important to get back to winning ways after our home defeat to Juventus.

“This Milan squad belongs to everyone, which is why we can play very well even without important players like Pirlo and Ronaldinho.”

When asked why Ronaldinho was on the bench for the second game running, Allegri would only reply: “It was a technical decision.”
