La Viola are on a European rampage after taking out Tottenham and pulverising Roma, and Pasqual believes a similar fate could befall the Ukrainians.

“They're the ones who should worry, because we already eliminated Tottenham and Roma,” he has told Sky Sport Italia.

“We're short of trophies, it's true. But this team has to keep thinking game by game, because that's how we can avoid pitfalls and recover quickly from our mistakes.

“We have only lost twice in three months.”

The 33-year-old was also asked about the differences between the current Gigliati team and that headed by former Coach Cesare Prandelli.

“Compared to that team, we still have to make it into the Champions League, though we came fourth on two occasions and a few years ago we could have made it.

“We're glad because we're doing some very satisfying things.”

Finally, Pasqual discussed his future with La Nazionale and his teammate Giuseppe Rossi, whose return from injury is highly anticipated by the fans.

“I hope to be in the national team. My story with Fiorentina is already set.

“It would be important to be called up [for Italy] because I don't play for Fiorentina that often and it would be a great sign that [Azzurri Coach Antonio] Conte believes in my continuity.

“As for Rossi, he is a great player and we are all waiting for him.”
