Lazio’s Marco Parolo praises fans for their support after Europa League elimination and wants to repay them against Roma.

The Biancocelesti appeared to be cruising towards the semi-finals, leading 5-3 on aggregate with 20 minutes remaining of Thursday evening’s quarter-final second leg with Red Bull Salzburg.

However, they conceded three times in seven minutes to see their European dreams ended in heart-breaking fashion.

The Biancocelesti appeared to be cruising towards the semi-finals, leading 5-3 on aggregate with 20 minutes remaining of Thursday evening’s quarter-final second leg with Red Bull Salzburg.

However, they conceded three times in seven minutes to see their European dreams ended in heart-breaking fashion.

“The image the players have in our eyes is that, despite our black-out in Salzburg, the fans were at our side and supported us even after the final whistle,” Parolo explained to Lazio Style Radio.

“They are creating a bond that is giving great strength and is helping the team to always give its best.

“Having a full stadium also gives added strength. We go again with our heads held high.”

The Italy international believes a positive atmosphere will be key to Simone Inzaghi’s team’s hopes of victory over their old rivals tonight.

“I have also seen something in terms of the choreography for the match and that will be another boost.

“The heat of the fans makes you go onto the pitch with maximum motivation, then it’s difficult to put in a bad performance.

“With an all-Biancocelesti stadium, it’s more or less natural to give 100 per cent on the field from our point of view.”
