Parma have confirmed that they will buy out 50 per cent of Sebastian Giovinco's contract from Juventus.

The ‘Atomic Ant' spent this season on loan at the Stadio Tardini and there is a clause in his contract allowing the club to buy into a co-ownership deal.

“He is on loan with a fixed buy-out clause. The President has been clear on this and so am I: we will take up this option on Giovinco,” said general manager Pietro Leonardi.

The 24-year-old has impressed this term and earned a place in the Italy squad, setting up Alessandro Matri's goal in Kiev this week.

“I hear others say that Giovinco will be included in different Juventus transfer deals, but he is a player who will be bought in a co-ownership deal.

“He is property of Parma and a treasure for this club. We are happy about this, especially as we are confident and aware that next season will be another great step forward in his career.”
