Despite being without a win in six and in danger of being pulled into the relegation scrap, Parma should see preparations for Milan in Week 28 as ‘easy’.

Roberto Donadoni’s men go into Saturday’s home fixture with the defending champions and current League leaders in their joint-worst run of form for the season.

Even so, President Tommaso Ghiradi believes that knowing upfront what to expect from the Rossoneri could work to the Gialloblu’s advantage.

“We know what awaits us in the challenge with the Rossoneri and paradoxically it may be easier to prepare for the match, even if the team face the strongest opponent in the League,” he reflected this week.

“It’s obvious that the motivation will not be lacking, that the desire is there to do the business.

“It is one of the simpler games to prepare for because there is so much peace of mind and belief in their own ability.”

The pressure has mounted on Donadoni in recent weeks, with the team now just two places and six points above the relegation zone.

“Had we earned three points against Genoa and against Napoli then things would be quieter. Bear in mind though that six points are always six points.

“We must not underestimate anyone and it is clear that if we had those points then we would be more relaxed.

“Improvement is what we are working towards every day, in terms of the transfer budget things are looking good, but for now we think only to improve the League ranking.”

It is almost exactly two years since the Ducali’s last win over Milan.
