Fabio Paratici completed several deals with Serie A clubs during his spell at Tottenham and it remains to be seen if Spurs will change their approach in the summer transfer window following the Italian’s exit.

Paratici has officially resigned as Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football after seeing his appeal to CONI against a 30-month ban rejected.

Paratici’s ban imposed by FIGC had been extended worldwide by FIFA pending the appeal, which has now confirmed the ex-Juventus director can’t ‘fulfil his duties’ for the next two and a half years.

The 50-year-old completed several deals with Serie A clubs during his tenure in North London, starting with Cristian Romero’s €50m transfer from Atalanta and Pierluigi Gollini’s loan move, also from La Dea.

His strong bond with Serie A clubs continued in 2021-22. He first hired Antonio Conte in October 2021 and then signed Rodrigo Bentancur for €19m and Dejan Kulusevski on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. Both players arrived from Juventus in January 2022.

Last summer, Paratici secured the signature of Ivan Perisic as a free agent after the end of his contract with Inter and signed Destiny Udogie for €18m from Udinese, leaving the Italian on loan at the Dacia Arena until the end of the season.

Paratici also sent Harry Winks on loan at Sampdoria until the end of the current campaign and Tanguy Ndombele to Napoli.

Now that both Paratici and his compatriot Antonio Conte have left North London, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will change their strategy or will continue chasing Serie A stars in the summer transfer window. Cristian Stellini has remained at the club, but it’s unsure he will stay beyond the current campaign.
