“We play every game to win, to improve and hopefully to get three points. As we said in recent weeks, that’s what we are here for, to get stronger, and then we’ll look at the table in March or April,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.

“This is a different season to the others and it became evident towards the end of last term too. Playing every three days, without fans, there are going to be some ups and downs. Players are not machines, they need to create the intensity within themselves when there’s no crowd, it’s unusual for everyone.”

Locatelli’s agent said that Juventus had tried to sign the former Milan midfielder and could well try again.

“We are very happy with the players we have. Locatelli is a very talented Sassuolo player, but if we were to name all the players we admire, we’d be here for hours,” shrugged the director.

Juve are said to be seeking a reinforcement upfront, with reports pointing to Scamacca, currently owned by Sassuolo and on loan to Genoa.

“As I said, we believe that we have a very competitive squad. So let’s play the games, then we’ll evaluate the situation without rush. There’s no emergency situation, we’ll see if there are opportunities on the market.”
