“Facing Atalanta is always difficult and over the last five years they’ve done an incredible job, so Italian football is proud of them as a club and for their coach Gian Piero Gasperini,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.

“They flew the flag high for Italian football in the Champions League too.”

The Bianconeri are starting to find some form with victories over Barcelona and Genoa.

“We knew this was going to be a tricky season with a change of coach, so it’d take a few games to find our feet. That was taken into account.”

The questions were asked about Dybala and his contract extension, as while President Andrea Agnelli said an offer has been made, La Joya claimed his agent was still waiting for a meeting.

“The President was clear in his response on the current situation. We have a great rapport with Paulo, we invested heavily in him five years ago when he was very young at Palermo, we invested in him with the Number 10 jersey.

“We all love him, as he’s a lovely guy who plays on even when he is nowhere near fully fit and is always ready to help the team,” continued Paratici.

“We’ll meet with him and his agent soon, meetings that have already been planned, but we haven’t been able to yet because of the COVID situation.”

Papu Gomez is on the bench for Atalanta tonight and likely leaving in January, so could he go to Juventus?

“No, absolutely not. Papu Gomez is an excellent player, but we are very happy with ours.”
