Roma captain Francesco Totti will be at the club ‘for the rest of his life’ according to President James Pallotta.

The club’s American owner held an open Press conference on Tuesday morning and discussed issues including his relationship with the Curva Sud and Financial Fair Play rules.

"Francesco has been an unbelievable player and an asset to Roma and Rome.

"He has a role with the team as long as he wants and we certainly want him to play a big role. He hasn't said 'I want to stop’.

“After his career is over, he'll have a huge role to play for Roma and I'm sure he'll be part of Roma for rest of his life.

"I'm not against the Curva Sud. That's not factual at all. I think the Curva Sud is an incredible force in football.

“I think they're unbelievably important for us. In the new stadium that will be more so because they'll only be nine metres away.

"It's just a very small amount of people who cause issues, not just in Rome, but everywhere.

"If there's violence or racism, I'll speak out against that. If they treat my players badly, they're going to hear from me.

"When you're a fan, you're a fan in good times and bad. We all want to win at the end of the day.

"If anyone is going to attack our players I'm going to go back at them.

"Do I think Financial Fair Play is a fair rule? I'm still trying to understand it. Roma should be the poster club for FFP.

“We were surprised that we got any penalty at all. I guess we're just going to have to wait to see what happens with other teams."
