Roma President James Pallotta confirms “we only have to finalise things” with their new Coach’s club.

Luciano Spalletti opted not to sign a new contract with the Giallorossi, and he’ll take over at Inter in the next few days.

That left the Giallorossi searching for a new man in the dugout, with Sassuolo’s Eusebio Di Francesco immediately emerging as favourite.

Today the club’s President appeared to confirm he’ll be the new Coach, by revealing their preferred candidate is already employed elsewhere.

“We have someone in mind and we only have to finalise things,” Pallotta said on SiriusXM.

“Not terms with the manager, but the team he's currently with.”

Pallotta also discussed his plans to make the Lupi one of the top 10 clubs in Europe.

“I think Roma can compete as a top 10 in Europe but we need that new stadium in order to get there.

“Next season? The difference between Juventus, and Roma and Napoli is that Juve have the depth. We just didn't have that [this season].

“Inter are going to be better. It looks like they'll have Spalletti and he's a great Coach. Napoli will be right there as well.

“Monchi? It's really exciting to see how he looks at things. It's a nice approach to watch how he wants to build the team.”
